Meet Tamara Gielen

Tamara Gielen
Tamara Gielen has over 10 years of experience in online, email and direct marketing. She is the author of the leading email marketing blog Be Relevant!, the founder of an international email marketing community of over 4,700 members and a regular speaker at international conferences.
Prior to becoming an independent consultant, Tamara was responsible for the strategy, execution and analysis of the email marketing programmes at eBay and Cognos. As part of OgilvyOne and later on as an independent consultant, other clients have included Microsoft, DHL Express, Booking.com, Wizards of the Coast, NATO, and SWIFT.

Kath Pay
Kath Pay is a veteran of 13 years in the digital marketing industry and she’s not only seen a lot of changes, but has directly participated in making some of them happen. She’s proud to have witnessed email marketing become an essential channel for integrated digital marketing that delivers a measurable ROI. Some of her past and present clients include Greenpeace Australia, Southbank Centre, Arts Council, VisitScotland, econsultancy, the IDM and Bookatable to mention a few.
In 2001 Kath Pay co-founded Ezemail, one of the pioneers of the email marketing industry in Australia, expanding it into the UK in 2004. Before concentrating on email marketing and other online marketing channels, she owned a small Web Design agency with extensive expertise in HTML coding, designing, internet marketing and Search Engine Optimisation.
Contributing to the Email Marketing Industry
Tamara has been blogging about email marketing since 2005. Her blog BeRelevant is considered to be one of the leading independent email marketing blogs worldwide. In 2007 she founded the Email Marketer’s Club, a social network for email marketers with over 4,700 members from all over the world. Tamara also lectures at Kluwer and The DM Institute.
Kath is a popular contributor to such blogs as the DMA Email Council, EmailExpert.org and Econsultancy. She is a member of the UK DMA’s Email Marketing Council and is the Chair of the Events and Communications Hub. As part of her remit she is the Editor of the council’s monthly newsletter Infobox, which has over 6,000 subscribers. Kath also lectures at the IDM as Lead Course Tutor of Advanced Email Marketing as well as with Econsultancy.
Kath and Tamara are also regular speakers at industry events both nationally and internationally.
